A photovoltaic (PV) or solar power system uses a specific purpose fuse called a solar fuse. PV Fuse, Solar PV Fuse, Fusible PV Fuses, and Solar Panel Fuses are all terms used to describe the fuses used in these systems. The Solar Panel Fuse Size is determined by a wide range of voltages, ratings, and ampere ratings.

The Midget Fuse comes in sizes ranging from 1 to 32 amps and operates between 600 and 1500 VDC. The Class R, Fuse, size operates between 20 and 400 amps at 600 VDC. Class J fuses have a voltage range of 600 to 1000 VDC and a current range of 70 to 600 amps. PV Fuses with the NH, or Square Body type are available in 1000, 1250, and 1500 VDC ratings.
